Cynthia Bader

Cynthia Bader is an educator, curriculum designer, and advocate for civic education with more than thirty years of experience in K–12 education in the United States and the United Kingdom. She retired from an independent girls' preparatory school in Washington, DC, in 2022.
Throughout her career, Cynthia worked extensively with teachers and school leaders on curriculum design, critical thinking, and student engagement.
She has long been involved in civics education. She led professional development programs for the Bill of Rights Institute, helped author and edit civics and constitutional studies resources used by educators nationwide, and served on the Institute's K–8 Advisory Council during the development of its elementary and middle school curricula.
She currently serves on the boards and advisory councils of several organizations dedicated to educational opportunity and civic learning, including izzit.org, the Jack Miller Center National Civics Council, and The Policy Circle National Advisory Council.
Cynthia believes that great education begins by truly knowing students and equipping teachers with access to rich, high-quality resources that support inquiry, discussion, and informed citizenship.
